Well, today was the day to pull everything back together. I managed to get MySQL upgraded to 5.x and fix PHP so the mysql module was properly compiled. So far things seem to be running well.

Site issues

If anything doesn't act like it should, bear with me. I have been working through some version issues between PHP and MySQL. I've had a couple of updates occur that I didn't desire while doing other updates and I have had to backtrack on a couple of packages to previous versions.

If you do encounter anything odd, please let me know. It is easier to track down specific issues that way. Hopefully things will settle down shortly though.

Site Updates

I completed some more updates on the site this week.

-I added a Gallery block that shows updates and the most viewed albums.
-I did a bit of work with the Calendar so it can be displayed.
-I added another hard drive and moved some partitions around so I have more hard drive space available to the website and other parts of the server.
-I fixed Links so it actually works again. I have decided not to put phplinks back on the site until there are some updates to it.

I have been working on the Photo Gallery and believe it is working properly now.

I still have to finish the site tweaking to make it exactly like I want it, but this is the start and it looks good.

Server Update

I switched over to my new server today. If you see anything out of whack, feel free to email me. It will probably be up and down a couple of times while I make some hardware changes, etc.

Items of Note:
-The big thing right now is the Photo Gallery. I haven't installed it yet, but I will be working on it this weekend.
-FTP should be functional.
-Some of the website plugins may not be running yet, but I will be working on those also.

new server coming

I have secured some new hardware and am working on rebuilding my server.
I am installing on Gentoo Linux this time and am upgrading just about everything I have on here. I will keep posting on how that goes.
I have the base system installed and am working on geeklog, email and all the other stuff I need to reinstall.

What a chore! But it will make everything smoother to upgrade and take care of in the future.

I managed to work on the site some more tonight. I have the forum working (I'm pretty sure, anyway), but I haven't had time to configure it very far, so bear with me. I'll be working on it some more soon and adding more features and organization. Chatterblock has also been added.

Security Updates

Recent security concerns for Geeklog and Gallery have been addressed.

Geeklog security patches have recently been applied to bring Geeklog up to version 1.3.8-1sr3 and sr4. A patch was also put in place to increase security for the Gallery installation to fix an issue that was discovered.

All right. After a long delay with technical frustrations and lack of time (we moved this summer) I 'finally' have the gallery integrated again.
Thanks to all who contributed to the 1.4 Gallery integration!
I am hoping to get some plugins and such installed in the very near future now.

The site is currently be rebuilt and upgraded. There are a lot of things missing right now that will be added as time permits.

You should:

Check your account. If you already had one, it should still be here. Make sure your password works correctly.
Check back regularly to see what is new.
The Photo Gallery is also being upgraded. Check it out.
